Apple Watch Release Date: New iWatch Device Will be Available for Purchase in April
Since the unveiling in September, the Apple Watch is one of the most anticipated devices the company has made in a while. The Apple Watch was featured Monday, and the release date for it was announced to be April 24, and those who preordered the device will be receiving it as early as April 10.
The Apple Watch comes in a variety of colors, styles, and prices. The watch is sized at either 42mm or 38mm. The three designs include the Apple Watch Sport with the aluminum case, the Apple Watch with stainless steel case and the Apple Watch Edition with a18K gold case. The cheapest these watches will sell for are $349 and the highest over $10,000. A variety of bands are also available including leather, metal mesh with magnets and brightly colored sport bands.
"Apple Watch is the personal device we have ever created," said Apple's CEO Tim Cook.
The wearable devices must be paired with an iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6 or 6 Plus. Earlier iPhones, Android and Windows phones are excluded. The watches are expected to hold a charge for up to 18 hours.
The watches will have all of the apps compatible with iPhones. Buyers can expect to make and receive phone calls with ease. Using the touch screen to make and send simple text messages is also available. Users can use Siri to ask questions, get directions and set reminders as well.
The Apple Watch Sport is ideal for health enthusiasts as the watch can target the wearer's heart rate and be compatible with several health apps.
The watches also have Apple Pay say people can make purchases with a simple swipe. It can be used as a hotel key for hotels that have collaborated with Apple. The watches can also be used as a boarding pass in airports.
It's no surprise that consumers are eager to get their hands on these new and innovative devices.
