Apple Watch Availability News: Best Buy to Sell Apple Watch Starting August

When Apple Inc. launched its maiden wearable device, the Apple Watch, it was only available on Apple's online and retail stores and few fashion boutiques in select cities across the globe. However, the scenario has changed during the last few months, and Apple will be selling its smartwatch through Best Buy outlets across the United States from Aug. 7.

IB Times reports that initially, sales would be restricted to Best Buy's website and roughly 100 brick-and-mortar stores of the retailer. By the time the Christmas holiday season begins, another 200 Best Buy stores will be selling the Apple Watch. However, Best Buy will not be selling all the Apple Watch models, but only 16 models of the 38mm and 42mm sizes alumium-cased smartwatch along with the stainless steel Apple watch.

So people willing to spend over $10,000 for the 18-karat gold Apple Watch Edition, they will have to acquire it from elsewhere, as Best Buy won't be selling the model.

In addition, Best Buy will be selling as many as 50 Apple Watch accessories, including bands, screen protectors, stands, chargers and more. Already, the retailer is offering a number of Apple Watch accessories available through its online store.

According to the report, it is expected that Best Buy will update its website in soon with information on the Apple Watch and which stores will sell them from August.

In April last, the Apple Watch was launched online for the first time in nine countries and markets, including the U.S., Australia, Japan, Canada, France, Germany, China, Hong Kong, and the UK. Apple has expanded the sale of its smartwatch to newer markers since then.

Meanwhile, Apple is yet to disclose officially the number of watches it has sold since launch. It seems that the Cupertino-based tech titan doesn't intent to do so also. According to estimates by analysts, the figure may vary from 2.85 million units to 5.7 million.
