Apple Watch 2 Release Date Rumors: New Smartwatch Not Coming March 15? Tech Giant's Silence Deafening
Despite the clamor for the Apple Watch 2, the rumor mill seems to be pointing to the tech giant not likely to make the announcement during the March 15 press event, where the iPad 3 and the iPhone SE are expected to launch.
"It still looks like that Apple will not be releasing a new improved Apple Watch 2 with upgraded internals and a FaceTime camera anytime soon," N4BB wrote.
Previous rumors on the Apple Watch 2 claimed that trial production would have been finished by January 2016. But no new information has been coming out of the woodworks to confirm the speculations.
"We may only see the new smartwatch in September this year, with Apple following yearly release cycle," the article added. "Reports did suggest that Apple will instead launch an updated Watch model with newer straps and software."
Another article from PC Advisor published the rumor about the Apple Watch 2 being launched in April or mid-2016.
Since the release of the first generation Apple Watch, Fortune estimated that between 2.5 million and six million units were sold by the tech company.
Apple CEO Tim Cook also did not specify figures, and only said that sales "outperformed both the original iPhone and the first iPad," the article added.
The first generation of the unit featured some glitches, and fans of the brand have been lapping up the rumors about the Apple Watch 2 to find out if all the kinks have been addressed. For now, however, they will have to continue to wait as the company-known for valuing its secrecy-seems to be even more secretive, if that's possible.
