Apple Watch 2 Release Date Rumors, Price, Specs: Second Smartwatch Set To Arrive At WWDC Event In June
Talks about a second version of the Apple Watch started to roam around last fall; mentioning that the watch might be released some time around the second quarter of 2016. Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event in San Francisco, California will be happening this June.
According to Christian Daily, The Apple Watch 2 will be 20 to 40 times thinner compared to the first one. As for the design, the Apple Watch might also bring in a couple of new slick bands along with it. According to Slash Gear, the watch will have an improved battery life, a FaceTime camera and also a GPS installed in it. The smartwatch can be priced at $299 for the 38mm sport version, $349 for the 42mm model.
As for the iPhone 7, rumors say that the bigger version will have two camera lenses while the smaller one will stick with the traditional single lense unit. According to Mac Rumors, the production of the new iPhones will begin some time around June or July and may be release around September or the latter part of 2016.
"Finally, we walked away with the sense that the Apple Watch refresh will not occur in September with the iPhone 7, but is more likely to occur within the next 2-3 months, and thus we believe an unveiling at WWDC in June makes sense. We believe Apple Watch 2 could be 20-40% thinner than the current Apple Watch," White said according to Mac Rumors.
Apple's annual WWDC might take place between June 13-17 depending on the availability of the venue. Apple analyst, Brian White, said that the Apple Watch and the iPhone 7 will not be launched at the same time.
