Apple Watch 2 Release Date Rumors, Price: Second-Generation Smartwatch Gets Q2 Launch; New Bands Arrive This Month
Along with its known specifications, Apple's Watch 2 is set to have a Q2 release this year while the new Apple bands are set to arrive this month.
According to N4BB, Apple's watch bands are set to be released on Mar. 21. As per the publication, the Cupertino-based company has sent out invites a special event previously this month. The aforementioned event is set to feature the 4-inch iPhone se, the iPad Air 3 or iPad Pro mini, and some updates to the MacBook line, iOS 9.3, and watch OS 2.2.
The publication also revealed that rumors suggest that Apple's Watch 2 is set to be released in the second quarter of 2016. This means that Apple fans who desire of buying the aforementioned wearable can purchase it in April, May, or June this year.
However, Quanta chairman Barry Lam has also revealed that the next generation Apple Watch will be revealed near the end of the second quarter of the year. Quanta was Apple's partner when it manufactures the first Apple Watch and it was initially revealed that Apple was going to launch the second generation wearable in September.
Apple is not set to release an enhanced Apple Watch 2 with internal upgrades and a FaceTime camera at the moment. Instead, the Cupertino-based company revealed that it would instead launch an upgraded Watch model with new straps and software, which was far from the improved FaceTime camera Apple would reportedly announce this year.
According to the official Apple website, the Watch 2 is set to have new looks and interface with its Watch OS 2. As per the site, the users' interaction with Apple Watch begins with the watch face and watch OS 2, such as a selection of "dazzling" time-lapse videos shot more than 24 hours in various locations around the world. These locations include Hong Kong, London, Mack Lake, Paris, New York, and Shanghai.
Users can also select a special photo from the watch's photo application and set it as watch face, which serves as the watch's wall paper. The watch also has a Live Photos feature, where in users can see beautifully animated motion before and after a photo is taken. Also, users are set to see various images from the Favorites or any album when they raise their wrist.
Apple's Watch 2 can also be customized as to the user's preference, along with its Time Travel feature, Nightstand mode, and various apps like e-mail, friends feature, and digital touch. For pricing, Apple Watch 2 is expected to start price tag at $349.
