Apple Watch 2 News: Release Date Going To Be Announced Alongside iPhone 7?

The lack of news only seems to feed the anticipation surrounding the Apple Watch 2 release date.

Fans have been eagerly expecting that the wearable device would be unveiled during the Apple press event on March 21 earlier this year, but admittedly that was too much to hope for. They then set their targets on Apple's WWDC 2016 event in June. Again, they were sorely disappointed.

The next big event to look out for regarding the Apple Watch 2 would be in September, which should also mark the release date of the iPhone 7. The company has not sent out any news statement that gives hint of that possibility, however, but that doesn't stop fans from hoping it might be true.

According to Tech Radar, there were rumors about the Apple Watch 2 going into production by the second quarter of the year. Obviously, that was a red herring.

The article quoted some sources who alleged that production for the new gear was scheduled for the third quarter, which would be on pace for the launch in September. That should also give Apple sufficient time to perfect the Watch 2, and silence the naysayers.

One of the more disappointing features of the first generation Apple Watch was its very short battery life.

That's the reason why there's a buzz in the release date of the Apple Watch 2, especially following the news that the company is switching to LED from OLED in the design of the screen. That should give it plenty of juice for the wearer for much of the day without worrying about draining the device.
