Apple Touch ID Interface Update: MacBook Pro, Macbook Air 2015 & More to Add Feature
Even as Apple Inc. is reported to be working on its next-gen iPhone and the rumored 12-inch iPad Pro, there are reports that the Cupertino-based tech titan may eventually incorporate the Touch ID upgrade for the company's MacBook, Magic Mouse, as well as the Magic Trackpad.
Christian Today quotes the Taiwanese website Apple Club saying that Apple plans to incorporate its Touch ID interface to quite a few of its devices in 2015.
According to the report in the Apple-centric Taiwanese website, incorporating the Touch ID interface in the MacBooks is a top priority for Apple now and, thereby connecting it directly with the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad. While the fingerprint scanner, which already exists in laptops, is basically a security feature and now Apple intends to offer a similar security level with its own interface. As of now, this feature only exists in the iPhone 5s and other iOS devices released since the iPhone 5s.
Apart from the security aspect, the Touch ID interface also lets consumers make purchases and pay for services through a number of payment processors like PayPal without having to inputting their sensitive record continuously.
Provided the information on the Taiwanese website turns out to be true, it will herald a new beginning for Apple as far as incorporating the Touch ID interface in other products, in addition to updating the feature with latest additions, thereby making the experience further flexible.
Already, the Cupertino tech firm has diversified into the financial industry, as it has equipped its latest large screen iPhones with a near field communication (NFC) chip.
Apple has already branched out to the financial innovation industry by equipping its large screen iPhones with an NFC chip. Although the NFC chip cannot transmit data to other devices wirelessly, it does allow customers to make purchases more securely in comparison to the credit/debit card swiping process.
