Apple Pencil News & Update, Rumors: iPhone 7 To Support Accessory?
Rumors about the iPhone 7 able to support the Apple Pencil have surfaced following the news interview by CEO Tim Cook with NDTV regarding the accessory.
Presently, the Apple Pencil is only compatible with the iPad Pro due to the high display technology. MacRumors explained that the display of the Pro features a technology that scans the signal of the accessory at 240 times per second.
But a seemingly innocuous statement from Tim Cook back in May during an interview with NDTV has fueled rumors and news report about the Apple Pencil possibly coming to the iPhone 7 or iPhone 8.
In that interview, Cook was asked a hypothetical question about what Steve Jobs might think about the Apple Pencil.
"Well we launched a pencil, not a stylus, first of all, and there's a big difference, and the things that people are doing with this pencil," he said. "I think that Steve would have loved. He loved to help people create. And if you've ever seen what can be created with that pencil on an iPad or an iPhone, it's really unbelievable. You should really show some of these to your audience."
Meanwhile, the rumors about the Apple 7 supporting the Apple Pencil might have some truth in them. An alleged source told MacRumors that the company filmed recently in New York alluding to the accessory and Apple's latest flagship phone.
However, just as with all the news reports and rumors surrounding its products, the company is again keeping any information on the Apple Pencil close to its chest.
