Apple Pay News & Update: New Service Allows People To Donate To Their Favorite Charity

The Apple Pay has expanded its services that will now allow people to donate to their charity or any of their supported non-profit group, the latest news reports reveal.

According to this news article, the new Apple Pay service would fully be operational right before the Christmas holidays although the exact date of the rollout is not known. The non-profit groups, however, will also have to make an account with the app in order to get the donations.

This would significantly bump up the finances of some non-profits, as well as encourage more people to be more active by making it very convenient to donate.

Jennifer Bailey, Apple Pay VP, said this small changes should be welcome news to people who don't like to go through hoops just so they can support their favorite charities.

"We think offering such a simple and secure way to support the incredible work nonprofits do will have a significant impact on the communities they serve," she said.

In announcing this news, the company abolished its previous regulation against the collection of funds for non-profits and charitable organizations. That means donating then was quite cumbersome as people need to go to Safari or through text messages.

Accordingly, a small tweak in the service will now show a donate button in the app, which would really bring convenience to another level. Also, it dispenses with the need for users to create an account, billing info and contact.

The Cupertino based tech company said in its website, "Apple Pay support for charitable donations kicks off today with nonprofits ranging from global organizations such as UNICEF to startups like charity: water, and more nonprofits will offer Apple Pay over the coming months so their supporters can make easy, secure and private payments.
