Apple MacBook Air 2016 News: Apple Dropping The Air Line?
The lack of news on the Apple MacBook Air seems to confirm the rumors that the company is dropping the "Air" line.
Nevertheless, rumors still follow around the Apple MacBook Air and according to DigiTimes, the company will be using the USB Type-C for the laptop, along with HP and Asustek.
It was the same website who shared the news that the company would be rolling out the new 13-inch and 15-inch line in the second quarter of 2016. Obviously, that didn't happen as June already came and went.
Rumors about the new MacBook Air being the thinnest ever for this Apple line have been going around for some time now. But Apple refused to dignify all the talks by any kind of confirmation, or even denial.
A fansite dedicated to all rumors and news about Apple products quoted KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo as predicting that the MacBook Air will probably be launched in the second half of 2016. According to the prediction, the 13-inch model will be released in the third quarter, while the 15-inch will be launched in the fourth quarter.
Tech Radar said that the MacBook Air is ready for an upgrade considering that it's still being powered by Intel Broadwell processor. Basically, it's an eight-year-old technology when each of its products is already rocking the Skylake.
However, Apple could very well retire the MacBook Air considering that it's already redundant with the more powerful MacBook Pro. In that way, the company can focus on putting all its R&D efforts in one product.
