Apple iWatch News, Rumors: New Smartwear Watch Showcased in Paris Fashion Boutique

As the launch date of the much anticipated Apple Watch in April draws closer, the Cupertino-based tech titan is already holding displays of the wearable device at exclusive retail stores in France.

Fashionmag, a French blog site, reports that Angela Ahrendts, Chief of Apple retail, is personally supervising setting up one such high-end booth at Galeries Laygayette, a premium Paris department store.

Sources told 9to5Mac that such displays are just a beginning and Apple is supposedly thinking about setting up retail spaces dedicated only for the wearable.

While it is still not known precisely if the Cupertino tech giant will be launching stores dedicated for the Apple Watch, it is known that Apple has been refurbishing its existing retail spaces prior to the launch of the smartwatch. In fact, there are reports that all such stores have installed safes to store the premium and expensive 18-karat gold Apple Watch. According to rumors, the gold-plated wearable device will be priced around $5,000.

Unlike the iPhones and iPads, the Apple retail stores are also likely to display the Apple Watch in glass cases. As of now, the iPhones and iPads are displayed openly on tables.

While over a month remains for the sale of the Apple Watch to commence, the company is not hesitating to showcase the device. In fact, the displays are very prominent and appealing. After the device was unveiled alongside the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in September last year, the company has been displaying the wearable device in a Parisian fashion boutique.

Moreover, several Apple employees were seen testing the smartwatch in public in January. Recently, the Apple Watch has also featured on the covers of chic fashion magazines like Vogue China and Self.
