Apple iWatch News, Projections: Apple’s Smartwatch will Dominate Rival Devices - Predicts Analyst Firm
Market research firm Strategy Analytics has predicted that Apple Inc. will be shipping a whopping 15 million Apple Watch devices in 2015 alone. It also said that the upcoming smartwatch will rapidly capture most of the small, but increasingly growing, smartwatch market.
Quoting a report published by the market research firm, IB Times reports that the Apple Watch will comprise 55 percent of all smartwatch sales from its expected release in April to the end of the current year. At the same time, the research firm expects that the sales of smartwatch will leap from 4.6 million to 28.1 million in 2015.
According to Strategy Analytics, while Apple Watch may prevail over the rival smartphones, the release of the wearable device will also be a "catalyst" that will fuel "the global smartwatch market," which, in turn, is certain to augment the sales for other wearable manufacturers also.
In fact, the Cupertino-based tech firm is expected to announce further details regarding the Apple Watch at an event scheduled for next week. It is expected that Apple will use the event to announce the precise date for when the smartwatch will be available to the consumers.
The report published by the analytic firm, however, claims that the Apple Watch is not perfect and, hence, the company will require upgrading it "tangibly" with a view to sustain its lead on competitors. Precisely speaking, the day-long life of Apple Watch's battery may possibly be a reason for frustration for wearers who would be using it on a regular basis, Strategy Analytics stated. In addition, the expensive price of the device may also put off some potential customers.
Nevertheless, Strategy Analytics is of the view that there are four factors in favor of Apple Inc., which will ensure the success of the Apple Watch - the brand value of Apple, the company's loyal fan base, its significant retail presence as well as an expansive app ecosystem.
