Apple iPhone 7 Release Date, Rumors: Handheld Device Features LinX Image Cam, Wireless Earpods

In line with Apple's iPhone 7, which is reportedly coming this year, it is reported that the handheld device is set to feature LinX imaging camera and wireless earpods.

According to Apple Insider, the Cupertino-based company's upcoming 4-inch iPhone7 is assumed to have dual-camera configuration, optical image stabilization, and zooming capabilities, with its LinX acquisition last year.

In a statement, KGI analyst Ming Chi Kuo told the publication that he expected Apple to continue the trend that had started with the iPhone 6 and launch two new iPhone models this year. It has been added that the iPhone 7 will have the iSight rear-facing shooter, along with a couple of 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus devices, one with a single imager and the other sporting a dual-camera design.

According to Kuo, Apple had been doing the said imaging feature way back 2014; however, it did not materialize. The Cupertino-based company had reportedly considered to apply the technology on the iPhone 6s; but then, juvenile technological challenges in the compact camera module algorithms and assembly hindered its integration to the product.

In addition to the dual-camera configuration, the iPhone 7 is also set to have wireless earpods, according to N4BB. As per the publication, the device would be losing the 3.5 mm headphone port, so that Apple would be able to further reduce its thickness.

Instead of the headphone port, a lightning port will be used as a port for lightning-compatible headphones. The said port would also be utilized for charging the phone, but listening to music while charging the device would be an issue.

As a solution, rumors say that Apple would be having wireless earpods and probably use Bluetooth to connect them to the iPhone 7. This means that the wireless pods and the lightning-supported headphones can be used if one wanted to listen to music on the upcoming handheld device.

With the upcoming release of the iPhone 7, it is assumed that Apple may have an increase on its sales. FBR Capital Markets' Daniel Ives told STL Today that Apple faced a few tough quarters ahead until people got to the built-up around iPhone 7 later this year, suggesting that future iPhones would turn the ship back into growth waters.

Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are expected to be announced in September.
