Apple iPad Pro News, Rumors: Tech Titan Working on 12.9-inch but Supply Issues Delay Release [VIDEO]
A new report claims that Apple Inc. is certainly working to develop a bigger iPad, which is said to come with a 12.9-inch screen display. Nevertheless, Bloomberg says that the release of this is likely to be delayed owing to supply related issues.
IB Times reports that there has been no increase in the iPad sales for several quarters and the Cupertino-based tech titan is of the view that releasing a larger iPad may help in boosting the sales. According to reports, it is Apple CEO Tim Cook's plant to develop a bigger iPad, as he wants to shake up this product line. In fact, he hopes to repeat the trick he adopted for the iPhone 6 Plus, which eventually boosted the sale of the company's smartphones.
It is rumored that the upcoming 12.9-inch iPad will be named "iPad Pro" - taking a cue from naming scheme of the company for its larger laptop computers. In addition, Apple may use the name "iPad Pro" with a view to make the upcoming tablet popular among the business users. Originally, Apple planned to start manufacturing the bigger iPad in spring, but plans had to be postponed to September. One report claimed that the delay in the commencing production is mainly owing to supply issues that is affecting the manufacturing partners of Apple.
According to the said report, the delay is mainly owing to the 12.9-inch screen of the upcoming iPad, which is significantly bigger compared to the existing 9.7-inch iPad screen. There are rumors that the 12.9-inch tablet may come with an "optional" stylus.
To some extent, the iPhone 6 Plus has also impacted the sales of Apple's tablets.
