Apple iPad Pro Release Date News: Tech Titan to Build Giant iPad Despite Dwindling Tablet Sales?

As of right now information on the Internet is scarce regarding Apple's purported giant tablet named the iPad Pro. According to a leaked image, the upcoming device will possibly have a screen display measuring anything between 12.2 inch and 12.9 inch. While Apple has yet to confirm this, there are speculations that even the purported giant iPad Pro will not help improve the declining tablet sales of the Cupertino-based tech titan.

Christian Times quotes a research note prepared by Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at KGI Securities, while the shipments of iPad will not go beyond the expected 45 million units in 2015, even the iPad Pro will not be able to do anything to check the apparently looming sales drop. As far as tablet sales are concerned, Apple is likely to fail miserably. According to Kuo, the tech firm will witness a drastic 52.7 drop in sales during the second quarter. As a result, it will only be able to sell 10.1 million units. Going a step further, Kuo states that the sales of the iPad will touch the nadir in the third quarter, with just 8 million sales.

Meanwhile, 9to5, which published the KGI Securities report, says that Kuo further notes that though the iPad Pro was launched to offer an improved user experience as well as long-term productivity, but it will not be sufficient to rescue Apple "since its commercialization may fall behind expectations, leaving limited time for shipping. Moreover, we are conservative on promotion, likely executed by Apple (US) or retailers, of existing products due to the lack of innovative applications."

It is believed that these predictions may turn out to be true, as Kuo has a reputation for making correct forecasts, especially when Apple products are concerned. All said and done, if Apple does decide to build a giant iPad, consumers expect that it will have a relatively thicker build with a higher resolution. There are speculations that the device will pack a powerful A9 or A9X processor as well as a whopping 11000 mAh battery, which is expected to live longer than all the tablets in the iPad lineup. In addition, there are rumors that the device will run OS X Yosemite and come with a stylus.
