Apple iOS News: Apple Releases iOS 9 Beta for Consumers
Apple recently released the first public beta version of OS X El Capitan and iOS 9.
This is the first time that Apple has made a beta version for one of its major iOS firmware available to users before its official release.
For now, there may be a number of crashes and errors in the operating system, due to the fact that the firmware is in beta and will get a more stable update once it is officially rolled out.
However, these crashes and such can be reported at anytime through Apple's Feedback program.
Earlier this week, Apple released the third beta version of iOS 9 for developers and will continue to release new versions every other week as the public launch approaches this fall, more than likely.
The point of Apple releasing a beta version is so that they can get user feedback directly, which will eventually make the testing period of the firmware shorter.
Apple has posted a FAQ with more details about the program as well as how users can revert to the the back up of iOS 8.
There is no official downgrade possible, but there are ways to go back to a more stable version if necessary.
In order to try the beta version of iOS 9, just go to beta.apple.com and install the consumer beta version of the operating system after going through Apple's sign up process.
The new version of iOS has added a few new features including proactive ones which allow Siri to do things automatically like adding entries to your calendar and suggesting playlists.
It also has a low power mode feature to increase battery life, transit directions in Apple Maps and a new News app.
