Apple iOS 8.2 Release Date News: Report Suggests March Roll Out, Prior to Apple iWatch Launch

If a recent report is to be believed, Apple will probably release the latest update to its mobile OS - iOS 8.2, in March, much ahead of the Apple Watch launch. The report also claims that the upcoming iOS 8 update will incorporate some common enhancements, in addition to bug fixes to the mobile operating system from the Cupertino-based tech titan.

BGR quotes a reliable source revealing to the website that Apple does not have any plan to release iOS 8.2 until March. At present, the latest iOS update is undergoing beta-testing by Apple's developers, who are reported to be working on applications for the Apple Watch, which is expected to be launched in April.

The website further claimed that Apple is also likely to introduce a number of apps compatible to the much-anticipated Apple Watch at an event rumored to be organized by Apple next month when the tech giant is expected to offer further details regarding the smartwatch, in addition to its next-generation MacBook laptops.

Last Tuesday, 9to5Mac also claimed that Apple will be releasing iOS 8.2 some time in March, perhaps during the second week of the month. At the same time, the website said that the timeline for the release was not fixed.

The website also reported that in probability iOS 8.2 will be compatible with the upcoming Apple Watch and will offer the functionality required by the smartwatch to connect with other Apple devices through an application programming interface called WatchKit, which enables developers to create new apps for the Apple Watch.

It may be noted that Apple released the fifth beta of iOS 8.2 (build 12A4345d), alongside Xcode 6.2, to developers on Monday last. In addition, the company rolled out the current public version, iOS 8.1.3, only last week. The iOS 8.1.3 incorporated several bug fixes, besides reducing the storage amount needed by users to update their device.
