'Ant-Man' Spoilers, Plot Twist News: Hank Pym Will Actually be a Villain in the Movie?
A very huge plot twist may have just been revealed by a LEGO playset picture that has recently been released.
In this play set titled 'The Final Battle,' Hank Pym is seen to be wearing a darker and more menacing Ant-Man costume which supports the theory of him being a surprise villain instead of an ally.
A similar leak happened only a couple of months ago revealing the Yellowjacket villain.
"Product images of an Ant-Man set, called 'Final Battle', presumably pertains to, well, the final battle between Scott Lang and Yellowjacket. It's important to refer to Ant-Man as Lang in this case because -- and here's the big spoiler -- Hank Pym is also featured as a figure in this set. Not only that, but he appears to be wearing a darker, more menacing Ant-Man suit than Scott Lang. Why is this important? Comic Book Movie speculates that this adds more fuel to the fire of rumors, rumor being the key word, that suggest Pym is the real villain of the film," writes Cinema Blend.
Marvel has been infamous for tripping up their viewers toward the end of their movies, so this reveal wouldn't be outside of the norm.
This theory is also fueled by the edit that was made by Variety back when they were revealing the casting for Hank Pym. Michael Douglas was announced as the villain initially before Marvel stepped in to make them edit the claim.
"Ant-Man features Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, a reformed master thief enlisted by Hank Pym (Douglas) to steal back his Ant-Man technology. His former business partner, Darren Cross (Corey Stoll), grew jealous of his invention and stole it for himself with the intention of selling it to the highest bidder. Evangeline Lilly also stars as Hope van Dyne, Pym's daughter, whose comic book counterpart is the superhero Wasp," writes Cinema Blend.
'Ant-Man' is slated to appear in theaters on July 17.
