'Ant-Man' News: Movie Linked With Upcoming 'Doctor Strange' Film

Marvel's shared movie universe is mind-blowingly vast at this point, and with the introduction of new characters and properties, it is only set to grow even bigger.

One very perfect example is the studio's most recent release, 'Ant-Man.' The subatomic dimension that was introduced in the film is suspected to be a direct link to the Quantum Realm that will play a huge role in the upcoming 'Doctor Strange' release.

"The company is scratching the surface of the Marvel mindtrip, the mind-bending natures of reality, which is something that we're going to completely go off the rails with in Doctor Strange," Feige told EW.

While the Marvel Studios President opted on being very vague with his answer, director Peyton Reed gave a more clear answer.

"There may well be a link between the Quantum Realm and alternate realities and parallel universes and Doctor Strange," he admitted. "The definite link is that psychedelic era of the Marvel comics world - the late '60s, early '70s stuff."

"It was something that Adam McKay (Ant-Man cowriter) and I really wanted to bring to the Ant-Man movie," said Reed. "We knew that there was going to be a lot of shrinking in the movie, but we wanted to take it even further in the third act. There's a lot going on in the Quantum Realm and there's a lot of storytelling possibilities. The fact that Scott survives the Quantum Realm in the movie - which Hank Pym said is theoretically impossible - got Hank Pym spinning again, wondering about, 'Is there a possibility where my wife might be still alive down there?' So it may have set off this obsession again. It remains to be seen if that's a good thing or a bad thing."

'Doctor Strange' plans on premiering on November 4, 2016.
