‘Ant-Man’ Movie Release Date, News Update: Filming Wraps Up, Teaser Video Released Trailer To Follow Soon

'Ant-Man' director Peyton Reed has confirmed that they have officially wrapped up filming, just in time for its scheduled theatrical debut on July 31, 2015.

'Ant-Man' has been shooting in Atlanta and San Francisco and the announcement that everything's done and wrapped up came through a tweet from the director himself. Reed posted a cartoon picture of Ant-Man riding an ant and captioned it with, "And that's it!" and "The ants have left the building."

Shooting for 'Ant-Man' started in San Francisco in Aug. 19, but the majority of it has been in Atlanta.

'Ant-Man' had a rocky start when the film's original director Edgar Wright, who had been attached since 2006, had to bow out of the project. However with Reed at the helm, the film has been wrapped up in a timely manner.

Reed will most likely remain in Atlanta to continue working on the movie, but reports say that they will no doubt be releasing teaser photos sometime soon, along with the official trailer that may be attached to the Super Bowl or 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'.

However, while awaiting the official trailer, fans and moviegoers can look to the 'Ant-Man' teaser footage released at the New York Comic Con in October.

The teaser shows Paul Rudd, who plays Scott Lang a.k.a. Ant-Man, as he runs through the streets. He is also shown with Dr. Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas, who is showing him a large fly that he could ride to get from place to place, an idea similar to the cartoon photo Reed posted.

'Ant-Man' is directed by Reed, produced by Kevin Feige and written by Gabriel Ferrari, Adam McKay and Andrew Barrer. The film stars Rudd as Scott a.k.a. Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross a.k.a. Yellojacket, Douglas as Dr. Hank, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton and more.

'Ant-Man' will hit theaters on July 31, 2015.
