'Ant-Man And The Wasp' Movie, Release Date News: More Writers Help Paul Rudd And Adam McKay?
Marvel Studios has added two writers to pen the script of "Ant-Man and The Wasp" which will be released in July 6, 2018.
Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari was tapped by the studios to work with Paul Rudd and Adam McKay in writing the story of the film. According to Screen Rant, McKay will give the breakdown of the story first before Berrer, Ferrari and Rudd can begin writing the screenplay.
Barrier and Ferrari actually helped in writing Ant-Man when they were still in production. However, the two went uncredited in the film.
McKay, who also directed Step Brothers (2008) and The Other Guys (2010) is excited to create the story from scratch since he was a late addition to the writing team during the first Ant-Man film. He has said in a number of interviews that he is eager to help plan out the story.
McKay will also have a chance to be involved in a number of Marvel Phase 4 movies.
Peyton Reed, also known for directing Yes Man (2008) and The Breakup (2006) is also coming back to direct the second film. The first one was originally written by Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish and then was revised by Rudd and McKay. When Wright resigned from the director's spot, Reed was tasked by the studio to replace him.
Reed said that he will take Ant-Man and The Wasp in "an entirely different genre template," according to Slash Film. He added that he wants to make it "much weirder" in the next film.
