Ann B. Davis Net Worth, Heirs: Alice Nelson From 'The Brady Bunch' Dies Aged 88

Ann Bradford Davis, one of the most recognizable actresses of all time, has died, generating thousands of fans to leave messages of condolence on social media sites and forums around the world. Davis leaves behind her estate worth approximately $200,000, which is believed to be going to her surviving family.

Davis was born in Schenectady, New York on May 5, 1926, and first appeared on 1950's series "Jukebox Jury" as a music judge on ABC from 1953-1954. In addition, her first major role was when she played Charmaine "Schultzy" Schultz on the sitcom titled "The Bob Cummings Show" from 1955-1959.

In addition, Davis won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series two out of the four times she was nominated for her character on "The Bob Cummings Show." As a result, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on February 9, 1960.

The actress also appeared as a physical education teacher Miss Wilson on "The John Forsythe Show" comedy series from 1965-66. In addition, she appeared in several TV commercials for the Ford Motor Companyduring the 1960's and 1970's.

However, Davis is best known for her portrayal as housekeeper Alice Nelson on the critically acclaimed sitcom "The Brady Bunch" from 1969-1974 on the ABC network.

"I basically don't do that well with children, although my sister says I'm a great aunt," said Davis to People magazine back in 1992, talking about difference between her and iconic her character revealing that she did not like to cook. "When it's my turn [to cook] in the house, we just eat out."

After she retired from show business, she joined Bishop William C. Frey's Episcopal Church in Denver, Colorado in 1976.

"I'm convinced we all have a God-shaped space in us, and until we fill that space with God, we'll never know what it is to be whole," said Davis to People.

In "The Brady Bunch" film reboot back in 1995, Davis played a truck driver, persuading Jan Brady to return home after she ran away from her family.

Her longtime friend Bishop Frey remembered his fallen friend in a recent interview.

"What you see on 'The Brady Bunch' was who she was," said Frey, according to CNN. "She was a very faithful Christian person."

When Davis passed away on June 1, 2014, she was 88 years old.
