Animated 'Guardians of The Galaxy' Series New Cast News: 'Boy Meet World’ Will Friedle Tapped for Role

Most known for his role as Cory Matthew's older brother Eric, Boy Meets World's Will Friedle will join the cast of Disney XD's Guardians of the Galaxy, as Star Lord.

The 38-year-old actor is no stranger to voice acting as he has played many animated characters such as Ron Stoppable from Disney's Kim Possible, Terry McGinnis from Warner Brother's Batman Beyond, and Deadpool in an episode of Disney XD's Ultimate Spiderman.

Star-Lord, who was played by Chris Pratt in the live action film, is a mixed race of human and alien and plays the role of an interplanetary policeman. Throughout the comics, he and his team of misfits take on each mission as protectors of the vast galaxy they know and love.

Vanessa Marshall as Gamora, David Sobolov as Drax, Kevin Michael Richardson as Groot, Trevor Devall as Rocket Raccoon, and James Arnold Taylor as both Yondu and Cosmo are among the cast members that have been announced for the upcoming animated TV show as well.

With such a notable cast, the expectations for the animated series are just as high as the live action films were when it was released last August. The live action film version pf Guardians of the Galaxy soared at box offices last year as it grossed close to $800 million during its six months in theaters.

Although a specific date has yet to be determined for the animated series of Guardians of Galaxy, the show's producers are set to premiere the show in 2015.
