‘Angry Birds 2’ Latest News: Rovio Announces Game Sequel, Launch This Month [VIDEO]
As many as 15 spin-offs were released by Rovio Games since the launch of the original 'Angry Birds' and now the developer has announced a sequel to the popular game titled 'Angry Birds 2.' Good news is that fans will not have to wait for long to pick up the new game, which is scheduled to be released later this month.
According to IB Times, the announcement was made by Rovio Games on the official website of the studio where it not only revealed the game, but also offered details regarding the successes of the several 'Angry Birds' spinoffs so far. The developer has touted the upcoming title as the "mother of all sequels." However, the company is yet to reveal any major details on how the upcoming title will be different from any of the other 'Angry Birds' games that are currently available for download.
It is expected that the new game will be revealed during an event on July 28, where Rovio will apparently display some of the gameplay for it. Meanwhile, Eurogamer reported the sequel will come out on July 30, just two days following the special event, so fans of the 'Angry Birds' franchise prepare themselves to play the latest installment.
When asked how the upcoming sequel will differ from its predecessor or the numerous spin-off games such as 'Angry Birds Epic' or 'Angry Birds Go!,' the developer seemed to be very vague. Rovio just stated that the upcoming game would be "bigger, badder and birdier" compared the first and possibly also the numerous games before it.
Precisely speaking, 'Angry Birds 2' is the 16th title in the 'Angry Birds' series. This, however, does not include the numerous ports made to consoles. It is indeed creditable that Rovio has never given the number to other games, although it remains to be seen how 'Angry Birds 2' will be a genuine sequel to the first game.
According to reports, fans will be able to download 'Angry Birds 2' on July 30 for both iOS and Android devices. However, as of now, no specifications have been given. The sequel is evidence of the fact that the 'Angry Birds' franchise is getting bigger, particularly with an 'Angry Birds' movie scheduled for release next year.
