Angelina Jolie News: Actress' Son Maddox to Work Together on Netflix Movie

It appears that the Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie may be slowly, but surely bringing her children into the profession that made her so famous. After introducing her daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt to Hollywood, where she did a cameo in Disney's 'Sleeping Beauty' reboot, the movie in which Jolie herself portrayed the evil Maleficent, new reports say that her oldest son Maddox may be joining her in the upcoming Netflix movie 'First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers.'

Quoting an exclusive report in the People magazine, IB Times states that the Netflix movie is based on the memoirs penned by Cambodian author Loung Ung. Jolie will be directing, producing as well as co-writing the film. Jolie's 13-year-old oldest son Maddox, who was born in Cambodia, is rumored to be a part of the upcoming film, though nothing has been confirmed either by his 40-year-old mother or Netflix.

According to the report, the way Ung depicted how children view war has inspired Jolie to take on the project. The actress has been quoted as saying, "It deepened forever my understanding of how children experience war and are affected by the emotional memory of it. And it helped me draw closer still to the people of Cambodia, my son's homeland." She added, "I was deeply affected by Loung's book."

However, 'First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers' may not be the only project that Jolie will be dealing with. According to rumors, a sequel to 'Maleficent' is currently in the works. Hence, it would not be very wrong to assume that she may consent to do the sequel, as she once said she "loved" the character.

In 2014, Jolie told Entertainment Weekly, "I was quite sad to put my staff down and put my horns away because somehow, she just lives in a different world," adding, "But I did have to take my staff home to practice walking with it in my cloak, and then I would go outside and scream at the bushes to expand my voice and play with my voice. So, Mom was a bit nutso for a period."
