Andy Mineo Wants a Word With Kanye West to 'See if Something Cooks Up' Spiritually

Artist Andy Mineo sat down with MTV news and discussed his hope to have words with Kanye West.

Mineo is a New York based Christian Hip-hop artist and producer. His full-length studio album, Heroes for Sale, was released in 2013 on Reach Records founded by very successful Label mate Lecrae.

Mineo first came to Christ during a experience he had at a Christian summer camp when he was in the eighth grade but upon going to high school with no Christian support he strayed from the faith until his freshman year in college.

In a sit down interview with MTV News the rapper said one of his dream collaborators would be Kanye West. West has been making several references in his music (namely his latest album Yeezus), interviews, and his desire to use the name of God in his controversial creativity.

"I'd love to get in a room with Kanye at some point, have a conversation. And see if something cooks up," Mineo stated. "I think he's in a unique place in his faith journey with Yeezus and seeing his live show, I'm like what up?"

"He's like a legend already, his track record is amazing" Mineo said of West. West's career took off after the famous tune "Jesus Walks" hit mainstream radio. However, until his latest musical effort, West had not made much mention of God.

Mineo admitted he has never heard Kanye speak about God like he is now, "you hear in his interviews he says stuff like, my new mission is I wanna honor God, I wanna please God" he said.

West's new bold approach with faith in mainstream media is perhaps what sparked Mineo's desire for collaboration with the controversial West.

Mineo also mentioned that J. Cole would be an interesting collaborator because of Cole's history in growing up in the church.
