Andy Mineo's 'Sway in the Morning' Segment Receives Praise From Fans for His Reaction to Vulgar Callers 'That's the Gospel it's Grace' (VIDEO)

Andy Mineo has been criticized in the past for mixing with mainstream media from supporters that think his promotional methods are too risky for a Christian rapper, but a recent interview on the radio show Sway in The Morning has people celebrating him for extending the Gospel to a non-Christian audience.

The New York based Emcee kicked off his morning back home fresh off his tour with an interview by famous MTV reporter Sway. The Reach Records artist has been making promotional rounds for his newly released EP Neverland, which secured him the No. 2 position on the Billboard rap charts.

"Was a pleasure to be on @realsway's "Sway In The Morning." Encouraged by the callers and the opportunity to bring the hope I've found to more ppl," Mineo tweeted after his interview. Fans who did not tune in had to wait for the broadcast on YouTube, which Mineo shared a few days later.

During the broadcast a number of callers phoned in after hearing the rapper perform live on the show. All of the callers appeared to be newly converted fans of Mineo.

"His first song almost had me crying," One caller said, adding that she was very grateful "To hear people like him, Mos Def and Talib Kweli come out and speak what's on their heart."

A few other colorful callers also expressed their newfound affinity for the rapper. "The music sounds good and stuff it sounds better than most of this **** out here in the radio and stuff," another said.

"I aint never heard of you but you good as hell" someone else phoned in. The callers passionately encouraged Mineo to continue the work he was doing for God. Although the language they used is not what the rapper is most likely tp use to with his Christian audience, he held his composure and generously stated that he wanted to give his new fans his music for free.

The atmosphere so filled with love for the Christian rapper even promoted Sway to shout, "Theirs hope, theirs light." Mineo's interview gained a massive amount of support from his followers. Many commending Mineo for not condemning or judging the callers instead fans said he peacefully shared light in a place where many do not often do.

"A Pharisee would of tripped hearing those callers language and Andy still said 'Get this guy some music' Thats the gospel it's grace! lol i loved that" one commented on the video.

Another said, "Andy! Thanks for your integrity, not putting anyone down, but telling what God has you bringing to the table."

Mineo first came to Christ during an experience he had at a Christian summer camp when he was in the eighth grade, but upon going to high school with no Christian support he strayed from the faith until his freshman year in college. Now he travels the country rapping about Christ and promoting the scripture Romans 1:16.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
