Android Wear 2.0 Latest News & Update: Software Enters Third Developer Preview Stage
The Android blog shared the news about the launch of the third developer preview for the Android Wear 2.0. This time, there's a new add-on to the update-the Google Play on Android Wear.
"With Play Store for Android Wear, users can browse recommended apps in the home view and search for apps using voice, keyboard, handwriting, and recommended queries, so they can find apps more easily," the blog site said.
One of the updates in the Android Wear 2.0 is the watch app being totally independent of the phone apps. In this way, users can manage their apps more quickly.
For developers to set up the third preview of Android Wear 2.0, they need first to install the beta version on their phone, then sync the watch to access the latest version, and then utilize the phone app in order to register the Google Account to their wearable. If they don't have a watch, they can use the emulator to install the app.
Previous announcements by Google pointed to an earlier 2017 release for the Android Wear 2.0. When it does roll out, it won't likely be compatible to older models of smart watches although this would be made clear when the release date is near.
According to Pocket-Lint, Google has a lot to make up for considering the delay in the launch of the Android 2.0. After all, it was first reported to be released this autumn. One of the major factors for the postponement was because LG, Huawei and Lenovo are also delaying the release of their smart watches until next year.
