Android Pay News Update: Look Out For App On Google Chrome

Android Pay will be going to Google Chrome soon, although there's no news yet on when it will go live online.

Android Authority said that there's also no information on how exactly the Android Pay will work when it ventures into the mobile web. For now, however, it seems it will only be available in limited capacity along with the participating retail outlets.

"We're moving beyond mobile apps and bringing the simplicity and security of Android Pay onto the mobile web, the Android blog said. "Users will soon be able to speed through mobile checkout on Chrome using Android Pay on sites like Groupon, 1-800-Flowers.com and many more to come."

This would be the best time for Android Pay to be coming to Chrome especially since there's now a higher awareness on mobile payment services, according to the news report from NFC World.

According to the study from First Annapolis Consulting almost 9 in 10 American consumers using devices compatible with Apple Pay know the benefits of mobile payment.

The report said that, "74% of the total 1,528 US consumers surveyed in June were aware of Apple Pay, followed by a 45% awareness rate for Android Pay and 30% for Samsung Pay."

The next step for Android Pay, therefore, is to simplify the process considering the study results which claim that 8% of consumers have had trouble loading the card (particulalry on the Samsung Pay and Android Pay). Also, the process is also complicated, according to 8% of survey respondents.
