Android N Release Date News, Update Schedule: OS 7.0 Gets Q3 2016 Release; Promises Enhanced Graphics?

New details on the release date and specifications of the Android N have been revealed.

Android N is set to hit the market in either August or September, Know Your Mobile has learned. According to the publication, June will see the Android N developer preview 4 with final APIs and SDK while July will see the preview 5, which is the near-final build. It is set to be followed by the final Android 7.0 AOSP build in August or September.

The potential August or September release date for the Android N is at par with Tech Advisor's timeline. According to the publication, Google's newest operating system is set to be released in the United Kingdom in the latter part of September. This suggests that Nexus mobile users may see the Android N pre-installed in the upcoming Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 smartphones this year.

For the record, the Android N developer preview 1 alpha was revealed in March while preview 2 and 3 for the beta were released in April and in May, respectively.

Graphics and runtine are two key features of the Android N, according to Tech Advisor. As per the publication, the operating system is set to cover the new Vulkan 3D graphics API, which possesses reduced CPU overhead than the OpenGL and it permits developers to include more graphical details into frames. The Android N graphics is also assumed to have the JTI Compiler, which accelerates app installation by 75 percent and decreases accumulated code size by half.

Overall, Google's Android N is expected to come out in the third quarter of 2016.
