Android N Features, News: Highlights Multi-Tasking Option For Users, Hangouts 8.0 Update To Resolve Annoying Kink?

One of the most anticipated features of the Android N is the split-screen multi-tasking option allowing the users to utilize two apps simultaneously, according to a news report from BBC.

Google has released a beta version of Android N to get feedback from developers before making some final adjustments for the expected full release. For now the OS is not available for Nexus 5 as it seems to be compatible only with Nexus 6 and 6P, Nexus 5X and 9, Nexus Player and Pixel C.

"The earlier preview allows us to hand off the final N release to device makers this summer, so they can get their hands on the latest version of Android earlier than ever," Dave Burke, VP of Engineering, wrote in a blog post.

Android N will also adopt the battery saving function called Doze.

"In N, Doze additionally saves battery whenever the screen turns off," he added.

Android N also addresses previous issue of having to pull down twice for the toggles. With the new OS, users will only have to pull down the notification once due to the quick shortcuts.

In other news, the Hangout 8.0 update will reportedly address the annoying kink on Android N on direct reply and bundled notification.

"On Marshmallow and prior, notifications from the same app were grouped into a single one and you couldn't take individual actions on them separately," wrote Rita El Khoury of Android Police. "You also couldn't directly reply to messages and other communications from the notification shade."

Android N users who update to Hangout 8.0 will resolve the issue, the news report added.
