Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update: Sprint, T-Mobile Announce Latest Devices Carrying Latest OS

US carriers Sprint and T-Mobile announced the latest devices that already feature the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

Sprint has announced that its Galaxy Note 4 and 5 and the S6 Edge+ already carry the latest Android Marshmallow OS, according to Android Police.

"The Galaxy S6 Edge+ is joining the S6 and the S6 Edge, which Sprint began sending updates to a couple of weeks ago," it said. "The software version number is G928PVPU2BPC3. The Note 5's is N920PVPU2BPC3, while the Note 4 gets N910PVPU4DPC1."

However, the update on Sprint will be rolled out in stages so subscribers would not fully experience the whole features of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow until the US carrier announces the completion of the update.

One of the biggest changes to the new update is Samsung's TouchWiz technology, which will be brought up to date with the new releases for the Galaxy S7 series. Also, the battery life should be increased with the Doze app.

Meanwhile, T-Mobile subscribers who own Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices can also download the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Although it must be noted that it's not the final release for the OS, as the carrier is just in the testing phase.

"Verizon and AT&T have yet to release the upgrade, even though AT&T had a scheduled release date this month for the former Samsung flagships that was not met and has since passed," Tech Times noted.

However, AT&T and Verizon subscribers should not worry whether or not their carriers are lagging behind in terms of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update as the two carriers don't typically give announcement prior to the release.
