Android 6.0 Marshmallow Release News: Mobile OS to Launch on Nexus Devices in October

Android users everywhere because ecstatic as news about Android 6.0 Marshmallow's upcoming launch made the headlines with some interesting details. New reports are claiming that Google's latest mobile OS will launch first on Nexus devices sometime in October.

Beyond that, certain reports went on to speculate that Nexus devices would not be the only ones to receive the update at first. Apparently some outlets feel many latest flagship devices will also be getting Android 6.0 M.

However, in a report by PC Advisor, a rollout on non-Nexus devices would happen sometime in early 2016 since that's the usual pattern Google takes when releasing new mobile operating systems.

In addition to the upcoming rollout, the Developer Preview is also available for current Nexus smartphone users. Also, fans can expect to see the final versions of the software showcased on the latest Nexus phones, the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X.

Moving along, another pressing question many tech aficionados are looking to get answered is when their non-Nexus devices will get the update. According to sources, if a user has a known brand device like a Samsung, Sony, or HTC one, they're more likely going to get the update first. What's worse is that some of the lesser known brands might not receive Android 6.0 M at all.

However, it's important to note that no official announcements have been made about which devices were going to receive the OS besides Nexus, so all sources can do is speculate.

With regards to what users can expect to find when they install Google's latest OS on their devices, it seems as though the update will not veer far from the design of Lollipop. For the most part, sources are saying it will focus to improve user experience, or UI.

On that note, techies can expect changes to app permissions, Chrome Custom Tabs, fingerprint support, Android Pay, and better power saving.
