Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update News, Rumors: Samsung Rolls Out Upgrade For Galaxy Devices

Unlike its response when Lollipop was introduced, Samsung is certainly taking its sweet time for the Android Marshmallow update. But now, the South Korean company is starting to roll out the upgrade for its Galaxy devices.

Five months since the Android Marshmallow update 6.0.1 was announced, Samsung started to adopt the changes particularly with its Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus first in South Korea. But the flagship phone of the company, the S5, is also getting the new version.

"Marshmallow updates have also started rolling out in India, the United Kingdom, Austria, Russia, Iraq and the Netherlands," reported Gotta Be Mobile. "More recently, updates have landed for models in Afghanistan, Croatia, Germany, Czech Republic, Nigeria, Pakistan, Italy, Macedonia, Spain, and a whole lot more."

Meanwhile, Tech Radar reported that the Android Marshmallow update 6.0.1 will come pre-installed in the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

It added, "The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ are the next phones expected to get the update. There's still no word from Samsung whether the Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 3 will get the update."

The Android Marshmallow update 6.0.1 is also expected to come for users of Samsung Galaxy Tab S, Galaxy Tab S2 and Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, but there's no confirmation yet from the South Korean tech giant on this new round of rumors.

US carriers such as Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile, as well as Canadian telcos, have also started rolling out the Android Marshmallow update 6.0.1 to the Samsung devices.
