Android 5.1 Lollipop Update News: Nexus 5 & Nexus 6 Receive Latest Google Software Roll Out
While many Android Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 users were happy to hear about the availability of Google's latest Android 5.1 Lollipop update on their devices, some were disappointed with the changes it brought. Apparently, the update primarily focused on minor bug fixes leaving some of their devices still plagued with issues.
Recently, Google released the latest build of Android 5.1 which is otherwise known as the LMY471 which can now be downloaded for free on the handsets Nexus 5 and 6. Of course, users will have to download it on their computers and boot their phones to update their software.
The latest build update reportedly focuses on fixing minor phone issues like those relating to SIM card handling since there are consequences of adding multiple carrier-supports. However, the latest update left many hanging since it failed to fix other major problems like the battery drain, the memory leak issues and the very aggressive process killer.
Of course, users will have to wait for yet another build update which is said to be the Android 5.1 OTA which many hope will include bug fixes for the major problems of their handsets. Meanwhile, in the latest update, users can follow some step-by-step guidelines provided by several news agencies to finally update their software.
Some reports remind users to have a Fastboot installed in their computers since the phones would have to be turned off and connected to the Fastboot/Bootloader mode. The users would have to extract the files from their computers to their handsets to finally install the said latest update.
It will take around 5-10 minutes according to several reports before the update can be fully functional on their phones.
