Android 5.0 Lollipop News: Google's OS Update Headed for Seven Major Lenovo Devices

The update for the newest Android system is going to be released in the second quarter for seven of Lenovo's phones.

The seven phones are: Lenovo A5000, Lenovo A6000, Lenovo P70-A, Lenovo S90-A, VIBE X2, Lenovo VIBE Z2, and VIBE Z2 Pro. Other brands such as the LG G3 and Nexus 7 have already received the update. Lenovo is eager to get the Android 5.0 update as reviews of Google's effort to keep up with competitors have been well received.

The 5.0 update, otherwise known as Android Lollipop, is a big step in the right direction. According to Google, this isn't just a small update with a little tweaking here and there. It is a major overhaul. An exact release date for the Lenovo, Android update has yet to be determined. Hopefully, this update will help Lenovo keep up with other phone companies.

The interface of the Android 5.0 update looks sleeker in design as the menus and widgets have a two-dimensional effect. It is said to help create a professional and cleaner look to the interface. Google has slimmed down and refined nearly every element of the new update to make is a more attractive OS.

R. Padla of Android Community said, "According to Lenovo, the upcoming upgrade will only be applied to units bought from retail market. Those under a contract or those from network operators are not yet covered. You still need to check with your carrier."
