'America's Got Talent' Winner 2016: Grace VanderWaal Takes Home The Million Dollars?
All the final 10 remaining acts in "America's Got Talent" season 11 finale earned the praises of judges Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell, Mel B and Howie Mandel, but only one came out on top in the end.
Sal Valentinetti and the cast of "Jersey Boys" belted out "December 1963." Following him was Tape Face, the man who literally performed with a tape on his mouth. He got Jon, BJC, Viktor and one from the Linkin' Bridge into what TV Line described as "the most unsettling game of Musical Chairs."
Brian Justin Crum reprised his version of "Creep," which was one of his most-lauded previous performances. As for Il Volo, he teamed up with Laura Bretan, Viktor Kee and Sofie Dossi for a spectacular performance. The musical vein went on as Grace performed "I Don't Know My Name," followed by Stevie Nicks' own rendition of "Landslide." Linkin' Bridge got a standing ovation for their rendition of the "Silhouettes," but that did not have any bearing on the results of the competition.
The last two to perform were the Clairvoyants and Jon Dorenbos, who performed a dual magic trick. The first brought Paula Abdul into their performance, where they predicted a set of random numbers shouted out by the judges then appeared on a lottery card. Jon also performed a card trick, which involved having Paula tear a playing card into pieces and then putting it back together.
The final five acts were Sal Valentinetii, Jon Dorenbos, Grace VanderWaal, Brian Justin Crum and the Clairvoyants. Towards the end of the show, Cannon announced that Sal placed fifth, Brian Justin Crum landed in fourth, and Jon Dorenbos nabbed third. Ultimately, it was VanderWaal who bagged the million dollars.
