American Idol: Jennifer Lopez vs Jennifer Hudson, Who Should Get Judges Spot? Keith Urban & Will.i.am to Complete Panel?

"American Idol" has had a lot of change to sift through in the past year. They had their worst year in ratings since the show began and had constant bickering between the judges on the panel, especially between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. 

"The Voice" past them up in ratings and got the Emmy nomination over "American Idol" for the reality spot for the second straight year. Media and fans started to say that the good chemistry of the judges on "The Voice" was helping the show succeed and the bad chemistry on "American Idol" was hurting the show. 

"American Idol" has decided to shake things up going into this next Season 13 by firing founding producers Nigel Lythgoe and Fremantle Ken Warwick and hiring Blankens and Den of Thieves. 

Also, there was mutual exits of judges Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. This left only Keith Urban under contract as judge. The producers are leaning towards having only 3 judges for the upcoming season with two guys and one girl. 

With Urban's spot locked up, "American Idol" was back in talks with Jennifer Lopez, who was almost brought in mid-season to replace Mariah Carey last year. 

"Idol" execs had tried to put together an Idol-alum panel of judges, but after Kelly Clarkson turned them down, they decided to go in another direction. Jennifer Hudson was also in the discussion but since the All-Idol panel is not going to happen, it is thought they would choose Lopez over Hudson in the end.

Will.i.am was the other male name on top of the list, so "American Idol" has their say, the three judges for next season could be Will.i.am, Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez. Will.i.am was a judge last season on "The Voice" U.K.
