'American Idol' Cast News: Simon Cowell Says 'We Had a Blast' as Series Approaches Final Season

Since the singing competition that set the standards for other singing competitions is about to end next year, one of American Idol's most memorable judges, Simon Cowell recently released a statement honoring the show that brought great memories and well, great artists.

Starting with Kelly Clarkson down as the first American Idol winner down to the recent one, Caleb Johnson all made a mark in America which of course had a lot to do with being on the show. Cowell, who was known to be the critique in the show from 2002 until 2010, remembered his times in the show.

"We had a blast!" Cowell said in a statement remembering his co-judges as well as Ryan Seacrest's previous co-host Brian Dunkleman "Me, Paula, Randy Ryan-and not forgetting Brian. Thanks to the fans we were able to make some great shows and found some amazing artists. Fox took a risk on a brand new show and I want to thank them for giving us the opportunity. They really were great times."

Cowell also posted a short message on Twitter reiterating his statement after news broke out about the cancellation of the show. "Looking back at my time on American Idol we had a great time. We found great artists. Had fun. And to America. Thank you. It was a blast," he wrote. The show will apparently run for another season next year and it will also be the last according to the recent announcement by Fox.

Right now, current judges of the show include Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr will all be returning for the last season of 'American Idol'. And while the end of the line are currently being talked about, reports are claiming that there might be a possibility that a special episode or a series of episodes will be featuring the reunion of all the judges past and present as well as the winners of the hit singing competition in America. There are still no confirmations regarding the matter.
