'American Idol' 2016 Finale Favorites, Winner News: Trent Harmon Tops La’Porsha Renae; Toughest Race In The Show's History?
In line with the nearing "American Idol" 2016 finale, Trent Harmon won over La'Porsha Renae and was crowned as the winner. Also, the battle between the contestants emerges as the toughest race in the show's history.
Harmon is now the champion of "American Idol" 2016. As per the prediction poll results in Heavy, the 25-year-old contestant topped with 887 votes, which is equivalent to 50 percent of the total votes. On the other hand, 22-year-old Renae got 802 votes in the poll, which is equal to 45 percent of the total votes. Meanwhile, 79 voted neither of them and it stood as the remaining 5 percent of the population.
Following his win, Harmon shared his thoughts about getting the crown in "American Idol" 2016. In his interview with Entertainment Online, he said that he understood and he was fully aware that all that had happened that night had gotten him to the bottom of the next level. For the singer, he was going to keep that mindset until further notice.
Harmon also mentioned about his excitement to pursue his friendly rivalry with his co-finalist Renae. In the same interview, he said that she was just glad he got to go to work with my friend, adding that they were going to be doing it together even after "American Idol."
Meanwhile, Renae also admitted that she had expected that she would be the second place in the competition. In the same interview with Entertainment Online, she said that the person that everyone thought was going to win never won while the person that everyone thought was not going to win, usually did so she had not been stunned by it.
Judge Keith Urban also talked about the recent finale of "American Idol" 2016. In his interview with People, he said that this year's competition was the closest race in the show's history.
