'American Horror Story' Cast News: Actress Naomi Campbell Removed from ‘Hotel’ Cast Following Conviction?

It seems that Naomi Campbell will once again have to take a hiatus even after reviving her acting career. A Sicilian Court has found the former Victoria's Secret model guilty of attacking a photographer in August 2009 and awarded her a six-month suspended jail sentence.

Quoting a report in Daily Mirror, IB Times reports that the 'American Horror Story' actress assaulted photographer Gaetano Di Giovanni with her handbag for allegedly clicking her pictures alongside her Russian ex-boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin. In the process, Campbell scratched the paparazzo's eyes.

According to reports, the actress had an out-of-court settlement with the photographer, following which Giovanni withdrew the charges against her. Nevertheless, prosecutor Francesco Massara ordered the trial to go ahead in public interest considering the gravity of the charges against her.

Daily Mail further reported that the court stated that the photographer needed medical treatment after the incident and it took three days for him to recuperate.

Meanwhile, Naomi Campbell's lawyer, Guido Carlo Alleva refused to comment on the case, which is still under litigation. However, he said that they intend to appeal again.

As Campbell has only received a suspended jail sentence, she can still continue with her acting commitments. Recently, Campbell, who is trying to resurrect her acting career, was cast as a member of the hit television drama series, 'Empire' and 'American Horror Story' Season 5 titled "Hotel."

However, as the case is still sub-judice, it remains to be seen if the model-turned-actor is successful in bargaining for a lesser term or find relief in some other way.

In fact, this is not the first time that Naomi Campbell has faced a jail sentence.

According to reports, Campbell was convicted of assaulting her housekeeper, Ana Scolavino, in 2007. She pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay for Scolavino's medical expenses, undergo anger management and also perform five days of community service at New York's sanitation department. During the period, she turned up donning high street fashion outfits, including a Dolce and Gabbana gown.
