'American Horror Story' Season 6 Spoilers: Is 'The Mist' The Show's New Title?
"American Horror Story" season 6 is set to premiere in just a few weeks but details about the popular anthology horror series remain shrouded in mystery. However, it seems like a movie ratings website has just revealed the show's new title by accident.
The series is currently listed as "American Horror Story: The Mist." Coincidentally, one of the teasers released for season 6 is also titled "The Mist." The teaser is a 16-second video clip featuring a strange creature creeping towards the camera.
Some speculate that if the trailer represents the theme of the upcoming season, then it will contradict previous reports claiming that the premiere episode of the series will focus on one of the trailers listed on the show's official website, which does not include "The Mist."
On keeping details of season 6 a mystery, series creator Ryan Murphy recently explained that it was their plan to introduce something different this year.
"John Landgraf and Dana Walden and I were talking, and the show is in its sixth season, and we've always done everything by the book," he told the Hollywood Reporter.
"Come January or February I announce what the theme is, and then we announce the cast. We wanted to create a different experience for the fans this year. But that doesn't mean we'll do that for season seven or even season eight," he said.
Murphy also hinted that while FX has not made any announcement yet as to the renewal of the series, "American Horror Story" could go on for multiple seasons and may even have its own "inner mythology."
"American Horror Story" season 6 premieres on Sept. 14 on FX.
