‘American Horror Story’ Season 5 Cast News: Jessica Lange Explains Why She Quit the Show
Fans of the 'American Horror Story' will definitely be missing Jessica Lange, as she will not be attending the 'American Horror Story' panel at the upcoming Comic Con 2015.
According to Latin Post, 66-year-old Lange starred in the 'American Horror Story' Season 1 as an very protective mother, in Season 2 as a fanatical mother superior in an asylum, in Season 3 as a paranoid head witch, and in Season 4 as a frantic, singing ring master, in the popular horror television series on FX, has confirmed that she will not return in the upcoming season 'American Horror Story: Hotel.'
The veteran actress won numerous awards, including two Emmys, a Screen Actor Guild award, and a Golden Globe, effectively portraying characters for Ryan Murphy's show. Having said all these, it was really shocking for the fans of the show when Lange decided to exit the very popular horror anthology.
In an interview with Deadline, Lange said, "I mean, they will continue." She added, "It will be great. When I originally agreed to do this, it was for one season. I thought, 'This will be interesting to try this.' I have never done this kind of television before."
It appears that, what made the actress continue with the show for four seasons was that Lange "had such a great time doing it the first year."
She told the website, "I have no regrets or second thoughts about that decision," adding, "They wrote such characters for me - so diverse and wild. They gave me so much to do every season in a time in my career where that is the exception, not the rule anymore."
Lange continued, "But, there is always an end to everything."
Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly reported that 'American Horro Story' celebrities who will be participating at the much awaited fan gathering at the Comic Con 2015 hosted by Tim Stack includes Matt Bomer, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, and Evan Peters.
