'American Horror Story: Hotel' News: Ryan Murphy Discusses Halloween Special
'American Horror Story' is classically known for its shocking take on the television horror genre, however the most notable episodes are the Halloween specials that air every year.
In a recent talk with, series creator Ryan Murphy claims that this year won't be any different. The episode will be titled 'Devil's Night' and feature the return of 'American Horror Story' alum Lily Rabe as the serial killer Aileen Wurnos.
The episode will largely be focused on a dinner party at Hotel Cortez and also feature guest and detective John Lowe played by Wes Bentley.
"The biggest serial killers of all time all come to the hotel," Murphy explained. "Gacey. Aileen. John Lowe's invited to a devil's night dinner. He thinks someone is pulling a huge prank on him. It's the biggest serial killers of all time in a room with him and he has to figure who is trying to make him lose his mind."
The second part of the special will feature actor Darren Criss as a hipster who decides to leave his town to avoid trick or treaters.
"They're horrified they can't get their artisanal cheese and they hate the sheets and they put Iris [Kathy Bates] through the wringer and she's not happy," said Murphy.
This special may or may not be related to the most disturbing scene that the show has ever filmed which was recently teased by Murphy.
"He is a representation of that and what people go through fighting addiction," explained Murphy. "It's not done lightly or blithely. I think it's very powerful and strong."
