‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ New Cast News: Max Greenfield to Join Series AHS Season 5

'American Horror Story: Hotel' creator Ryan Murphy recently took to his Twitter handle to announce that Max Greenfield will be joining the cast of the upcoming series. Murphy tweeted, "This October, Max Greenfield (like you've never seen him) is checking in to the hotel....but not checking out."

However, Latin Post reports that Murphy has not given any indication what character Greenfield would be portraying in the series or the precise number of episodes the actor would be on. Meanwhile, the IMDb page of Greenfield states that he has been signed on for 13 episodes.

It is worth mentioning here that Greenfield is well known for his work on 'New Girl' and has also starred in 'Veronica Mars.' The actor also featured in the independent film 'About Alex' along with Max Minghella. Now, Greenfield is scheduled to star in the SXSW hit 'Hello, My Name Is Doris.' Currently, he is filming 'The Big Short' with co-stars Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling.

According to Murphy, Greenfield will be joining the other 'American Horror Story' cast members Lady Gaga, Wes Bentley ('Interstellar'), Cheyenne Jackson ('Behind the Candelabra,' and 'The Green'), Matt Bomer ('Magic Mike XXL,' and 'White Collar'), Kathy Bates ('Revolutionary Road,' and 'Titanic'), Sarah Paulson ('12 Years a Slave,' and 'Martha Marcy May Marlene'), Chloe Sevigny ('Zodiac,' and 'Boys Don't Cry'), Angela Bassett ('Malcolm X') and Evan Peters ('X-Men: Days of Future Past').

The 'American Horror Story' is basically a compilation series revolving around the different characters as well as locations, counting a haunted house, a witch coven, an insane asylum, a freak show and now also a hotel. The show is from the 20th Century Fox and production of the series is scheduled to begin this summer.

All through the previous seasons, the series has achieved as many as seven Golden globe nominations and has won for Best Actress in a Mini-series for Jessica Lange. In addition, the show has also been nominated several times for the Emmy awards, in addition to the SAG awards. Altogether, the hit show has won 63 awards and 165 nominations.

'American Horror Story: Hotel' will air in October in time for Halloween.
