'American Crime Story' Season 3 News: Connor Jessup Returning As Taylor Blaine

Connor Jessup is set to return for "American Crime" season 3, and show creator Michael McDonald recently teased that the new installment will put him in an emotional wringer yet again.

"Connor Jessup is one of the smartest and most talented young actors working today. John (Ridley) and I believe Connor's performance will be even more emotionally shocking than last year as his character helps shed new light on the opiate addiction epidemic that is plaguing America," said McDonald, according to TV Line.

The 22-year-old actor gained critical acclaim for his role in the ABC drama. In season 2, he portrayed Taylor Blaine, a teenager struggling with his own sexuality issues.

Show creators John Ridley and Michael McDonald previously confirmed that joining him next season are returning stars Timothy Hutton, Felicity Huffman, Regina King, Lili Taylor and Richard Cabral.

"American Crime" season 3 follows the characters as they take on new roles for a new standalone story arc that is set in North Carolina.

According to Ridley, the new season will delve heavily into labor issues, economic divides and individual rights.

Currently, Jessup is part of the "Closet Monster" cast. He is also active in Canadian theaters. He recently wrote, directed and produced "Boy," a short film that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year. In 2012, the same festival recognized him for his stellar performance in the independent film "Blackbird." He also executive produced "Amy George," another independent film which was shown at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2011. Among his previous television roles were TNT's "Falling Skies" and "The Saddle Club."
