Amazon $50 Fire Tablet Release News: Online Retail Giant Launches New Tablet, Updates Fire TV to Support 4K Video
Online retail giant Amazon.com Inc. has recently updates its range of tablets as well as Fire TV products and also announced a brand new 7-inch Fire table that will come for as cheap as $50.
IB Times reports that Amazon claims that this is the best display on any tablet available under $50. At the same time, the retail giant asserts that the budget tablet will be twice as robust compared to the latest generation iPad Air from Apple Inc. It also features twice the processing power of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, it claimed. Now, Amazon is also trying to lure people to buy in bulk by offering them the opportunity to buy five and get a sixth tablet for free.
Amazon.com founder and CEO said, "Today, we're taking another step in our mission to deliver premium products at non-premium prices," adding, "The all-new Fire features a quad-core processor, is incredibly durable, and is backed by the Amazon content ecosystem, the new Amazon Underground, and Amazon customer service with Mayday Screen Sharing. Fire sets a new bar for what customers should expect from a low cost tablet."
As far as the specs of the $50 Fire Tablet is concerned, the 7-inch device houses a quad-core 1.3GHz processor, uses IPS screen technology, comes with front and rear cameras and has a microSD card slot to allow the user add an additional 128GB of storage. The tablet will go on sale from Sept. 30 and will be available with the most recent version of the Amazon Fire OS, which is a divergence of Android in addition to offering Amazon's own app, books and music stores plus its Instant Prime video streaming service.
Aside from launching a brand new budget tablet, Amazon also updated its 8-inch and 10-inch Fire Tablet range in addition to updating its Fire Kids Edition tablet.
After Apple launched its fourth generation Apple TV last week, Amazon is also updating its own set-top box, with the new Fire TV, which will now support 4K video allowing users watch ultra high definition content from Netflix and Amazon's own Prime Instant video streaming service.
At the same time, Amazon has also updated its Fire TV Stick, which has turned out to be Amazon's fastest-selling product ever. Now the Fire TV Stick will add the ability to search for content and apps utilizing the remote control. Both new Fire TV products are available to pre-order now and will start shipping in October.
