Amanda Knox News: Murder Suspect Gets Engaged to Musician Colin Sutherland
The recent news of suspected murderer Amanda Knox's engagement to musician Colin Sutherland came as a shock to many. Knox reportedly knew Sutherland from middle school and described themselves as childhood friends.
"Knox met fiancé Colin Sutherland in middle school, but the two didn't start dating until last year. She confirmed reports of their engagement in an email to Seattle Times columnist Jonathan Martin, with whom she shared an off-the-record coffee last year," writes Yahoo News.
Many are skeptical of the recent announcement as Knox has become convicted once again for a crime she was once acquitted of committing back in 2007.
Knox and her ex-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito were held in prison in Italy for four years for the suspected murder of her roommate, British college student Meredith Kercher. Her roommate was found dead in an apartment they shared in Perugia Italy in 2007.
The acquittal has recently been overturned for Knox and Sollecito and they are both now again under investigation.
Knox and Sutherland have agreed to postpone their marriage plans until after the verdict has been disclosed on the case on March 25th.
"Italy's highest court is slated to hear the latest appeal in the Kercher case on March 25. That hearing could determine if Italy will attempt to extradite Knox for yet another trial or acquit her once and for all. In the meantime, Martin writes, Sutherland "has signed up to be stalked by paparazzi, British tabloids and Internet trolls. It must be love," writes Yahoo News.
