The cooking industry was shocked after finding out that Food Network star Alton Brown has officially divorced his wife DeAnna Brown, without even knowing that divorce was on the table.

No matter how sad the news is, it is indeed the truth, according to several reports although the chef himself still has to confirm or deny the rumors. But according to a source from E! News, divorce was inevitable as their relationship was already falling apart slowly since 2014.

Rumors suggest that the two have been separated for almost a year now and that Alton was the one to first file the divorce papers near his Georgia home later that year. Apparently, Alton has been busy filming Iron Chef America as well as Good Eats, Cutthroat Kitchen and Feasting on Asphalt.

Not only that, being one of the great Chefs in the country involves a lot of tours and which required Alton to be away from home to speak and inspire cooks which reportedly greatly contributed to why the two split and finally, divorced.

Alton wasn't the first chef to have had his relationship burned down flames. It has been rumored that Food Network star Bobby Flay also filed divorce from his wife and Law & Order: SVU star Stephanie March.

But despite all these personal problems, the chefs, including Alton himself continues to be pursuant to inspire others to be great cooks. "For every person that I meet that thanks me for teaching me how to cook, I probably get at least as many saying, 'Gee, I don't really cook but now I'm more aware of ingredients,'" he shared in Men's Journal. "My personal belief is yet more people are cooking with a more diverse range of ingredients, based on the people I see in grocery store."
