Actor Lance Henriksen recently shared some updates on the sequel to the hit sci-fi film "Aliens," where he plays the iconic role of Bishop.

According to Henriksen, the fifth installment of the film is highly likely to happen. The actor is positive that "Alien 5" will see the light of the day despite being indefinitely put on hold. Previous reports stated that the project had to be postponed since FOX had to prioritize another "Alien" movie to be helmed by Ridley Scott, the "Alien: Covenant."

In his interview with IGN, the actor said he was confident that the studio would still revitalize the project after "Alien: Covenant" hits theaters.

Talking about "Alien 5," Henriksen said, "You know they're going to make another one. It picks up right where 'Aliens' ended. I don't know if I'm going to be in a baggie or how I'm going to be in it. Blomkamp is a really wonderful, wonderful writer. I have a feeling that if he did it, it would be something spectacular. And there's an audience for it."

Back in July, Sigourney Weaver revealed that the upcoming sequel will ignore the events of "Alien 3" and "Alien: Resurrection," allowing the return of characters like Lance Henriksen's Bishop, Michael Biehn's Corporal Hicks and Carrie Henn's Newt. According to reports, these actors will return for "Alien 5" alongside Sigourney Weaver's character, Ellen Ripley.

Henriksen went on to say that "Alien" is still viable and is not yet old.

In August, Michael Biehn said it would be embarrassing for FOX if they do not give Sigourney Weaver the movie "she really wants to go out on," referring to "Alien 5."

As of this writing, the studio is focused on the production of "Alien: Covenant" and has not yet released any official update on "Alien 5."
